Thomas Gray

Thomas Gray1716–177118th century Thomas Gray was an English poet and scholar, best known for his 'Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard' (1751), a masterpiece of the graveyard school of poetry. He was a professor of modern history at Cambridge University, though he published little during his lifetime.
