onnect you with a subscriber’s tele-phone in another city—when, for ex-ample, you ask to be connected with aspecific person, or with a specific ex-tension telephone, room number or de-partment reached through a subscriber'sprivate switchboard. Charges start when you are in com-munication with the specified person, oranother acceptable person, or with aspecified extension telephone, room num-ber, or department. A three-minute connection is allowedbefore there is a charge for overtime. To make a Person to Person call, ifyou know the number, place the call asfollows: “Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. JamesSmith at Pennypacker 5-3725.” Or, “NewYork City, Gramercy 7-2500, Extension123.” If you do not know the number tobe called, give the operator the addressof the called person. For example:“Denver, Colo., Mr. James Warren, 234N. Market Street.”
