IAL TONE—A continuous hum—the signal to start dialing. Listen forit before dialing. RINGING SIGNAL—A burring tone repeated at regular intervals. Thislets you know that the telephone you have called is ringing.BUSY TONE—A steady buzz-buzz tone. BEEP TONE—Tells when conversation is being recorded. MIS-ROUTED CALL TONE—A siren-like sound that rises and falls in pitch. It means there has been a mistake on the call. Hang up and dial thenumber again.
