It has set6 wwe At aside the old leaders, absorbed theirfollowing and embarked boldly upon a course which isdesigned to lead to absolute separation from the BritishCMPIre Se SeIndependence and a distinct national existence is theSinn Fein goal. There is no disguise about it; nor is thereconcealment of their scheme of outright rebellion, whichis to be the final alternative if other plans fail. They saythat any possible hope of constitutional reform may aswell be abandoned, in view of the failure of all parlia-mentary measures, and they openly flout home rule orcolonial government, or any other proposal which wouldhold Ireland as an integral unit of the British empire.They are not British, nor Scottish, they say. They areIrish ce soIreland was a distinct race, with the full attribute ofnationhood, before England was; and of right theyshould and must be free.
