We did not realize then, but soonfound out that our privations and hardships, so far ascourtesy, intelligent care and gracious and distinguishedattention could amend, ended when we stepped offdeck at Liverpool. Arriving in London early in the afternoon, we found atthe Savoy Hotel the Ministry of Information awaitingus with an excellent luncheon, after which we wereassl igned to the best suites in the hostelry, given the useof an immense assembly room with anterooms and lob-bies and two secretaries and a number of typists to takedictation, write letters or telegrams or do any errands a— jo —
