= Coyote had traveled toward the north forsome distance, he turned east and continued hisjourney. He had brought his arrows with him. Theirtips were made of fine flint and he carried them in aquiver made of otter-skin. He was wearing a net-cap in which he had put whitefeathers. He had used the white breast of an eagle andthe leg feathers in making the cap. The quiver full of arrow shafts with the fine flintarrowheads he was carrying under his arm. Frost also wore a net-cap filled with white feathers, 42 COYOTE’S DECEPTION BY FROST sat his feathers were made of snow. Very pretty were‘rost’s white feathers. Frost was going west, and met Coyote on his wayvast, at a place called Clover Creek Valley. “ Hu! ” panted Coyote as he sat down.
